Ladies Philoptochos "Ai Myrophoroi"

St. George Cathedral Ladies’ Philoptochos Society is a philanthropic organization committed to helping the poor and serving our Orthodox Church. We have supported ministries such as St. BasilsAcademy, Hellenic College/Holy Cross, Orthodox Christian Mission Center, International Orthodox Christian Charities and the St. Photios Shrine to name just a few.

We are also dedicated to our Cathedral and assist in such programs as the annual church festival, restoration project, fundraising and church celebrations.

In addition, we offer our members fellowship with fun programs such as Philoptochos teas, Christmas festival, Bid-n-Buy, and trips.

Our Philoptochos chapter is named "Ai Myrophoroi" in honor of the myrrh bearing women. These women were the first to hear the news of Christ’s resurrection.  Arriving at the tomb to anoint the body, they were greeted with the angel’s triumphant news “He is not here, He is risen!” Mark 16:1-6. Through their deeds, these women showed great commitment and love for Jesus. They are powerful examples for us as we work to serve His church.
